Nicholas Clay
Having studied at Hull University, I qualified in London as a solicitor in 1997, where I worked for a high-street legal-aid practice conducting criminal defence, landlord & tenant, and personal injury work.
Since I came to work with John Robinson in June 2000, I have only undertaken defence-based criminal litigation and advocacy. I principally spend my time at the Magistrates’ Court and the police station.
I became a partner of the firm on 1 July 2003.

Ben Hibbert
I studied law at the University of Hull before qualifying as a solicitor in 2000.
I worked in West Yorkshire before returning to Hull to work with John Robinson & Co in 2001. Since then I have specialised as a criminal solicitor appearing in Magistrates’ Courts and police stations across the Yorkshire area and further afield on a daily basis.
I became a partner of the firm on 1 July 2003.

Harold Bloomfield
I completed my training in Hull and was admitted as a solicitor in 1981. My first job as a Solicitor was in Lincoln where I worked for about 12 months before returning to Hull.
Throughout my working life I have represented individuals in police custody and before the criminal Courts. I qualified as a Higher Rights Advocate over 10 years ago, and have appeared regularly in the Crown Court ever since. I have successfully represented clients before the Court of Appeal on several occasions.
I joined John Robinson & Co as a partner in October 2006.

Dominic Bloomfield
I started at John Robinson’s as a trainee solicitor in 2017 after studying law at Leeds Beckett University and have been employed by the firm ever since.
After qualifying as a solicitor in 2019, I have specialised in the field of criminal defence.
I have experience of representing individuals suspected of involvement in a wide range of offences at the local police station & Magistrates’ Courts, including trials. My caseload also involves the day-to-day conduct of litigating serious cases that have proceeded to the Crown Court.
I qualified as a duty solicitor in May 2022.
Clerks
The firm employs a number of clerks that help prepare our cases in the Courts, and who also regularly attend at local police stations to represent our clients.
